RULES & REGULATIONS
There seems to be some confusion amongst umpires when it comes to the implementation of Rules & Regulations. THE LEAGUE FOLLOWS ‘ICC RULES’ for its games. The Rules and Regulations published in the website are those RULES and SPECIAL CONDITIONS that are UNIQUE to Midwest Cricket Conference.
The league wants to improve the umpiring standards and we want to see the following steps being taken;
Many new rules have introduced and many rules have changed in the way it is implemented. Umpires and Teams should be aware of the changes for their own good.
Teams and Umpires should be thorough with the ICC rules for ODI’s. This shall soon be published in our website.
Teams should carry a copy of both the ICC and MCC rules in case there is a need to verify the same.
If there is any doubt in the interpretation or application of these rules, TEAMS and UMPIRES are requested to contact sridher@midwestcricket.org .
Umpires need to understand that they should know the laws/rules before they wield their power.
Umpires need to be proactive and not wait for mistakes to happen on the field. Warm the teams once before penalizing them.
If you feel you have a problem, please let us know, but we would appreciate if you could also think of possible solutions too. Constructive criticism is always welcome from members – playing or non-playing.
